Vallourec has ordered a new 3-roll mill from Danieli, to be supplied on a turnkey basis; the new mill will replace the existing 3-roll Cross Rolling Mill which currently holds the title of one of the largest of its kind in the world.
The main scope of supply for the new Danieli 3-roll mill includes:
> Horizontal Punching Machine;
> Hollow transfer car at the CRM inlet;
> Pusher and inlet trough;
> Mill stand and drive components;
> Roll cartridge and relevant changing equipment;
> Complete outlet area;
> Auxiliary equipment including hydraulic and lubrication units;
> Electrics and automation;
> Tooling.
The mill will operate using Danieli Automation’s Level 1 and Level 2 automation system which will be interfaced with a plant supervisory control system.
Dismantling of the existing equipment and installation of the new mill at Düsseldorf-Rath will take place within a challenging time frame - from November 2016 through to January 2017.
Vallourec is a world leader in premium tubular solutions, primarily serving the energy markets for oil, gas and power-generation.
The Group has already placed a number of orders with Danieli over the years; more recently, with a Final Acceptance Certificate for Danieli FQM technology in 2013 for their plant in North America.
