ORI Martin selects Danieli Service for new 1,300-ton cold shear

Start-stop technology for enhanced efficiency and reduced maintenance costs

ORI Martin has awarded Danieli the supply of a new, CMC 1300 cold shear to be installed at its Ospitaletto plant, Italy. The new equipment will perform final cold cutting of bar layers to commercial lengths.

Danieli’s scope of supply includes the 1,300-ton cold shear, drive unit, tail evacuation system, blade-changing equipment, interconnecting piping and associated electrical equipment, as well as the dismantling activities of the existing unit and the erection and commissioning services for the new equipment.

The new cold shear is based on a start-stop drive design conceived to reduce maintenance requirements and related costs, while enhancing overall plant efficiency and equipment reliability.

The project will provide ORI Martin with a modern and reliable solution for final cutting operations, supporting improved performance of its bar finishing line.
