Chengde Jianlong contracted Danieli to supply a new, five-strand bloom caster to be installed at their Chengde plant, Hebei Province, China. This is going to be the second Danieli caster for long products at that location; a CCM for large rounds was installed by Danieli in late 2011.
The new, five-strand 12-m radius caster, designed to cast 240-mm squares and 210- and 400-mm rounds in SBQ grades, will make use of Danieli Q-EMS technology to ensure top quality blooms on all grades. Through the Liquid Pool Control (LPC) system supplied by Danieli Automation along with the process control system, the caster will be able to automatically position the final stirrer along the radius, while regulating current/frequency for the highest internal quality.
