Acciaierie Venete commissions second Danieli bar-straightening line at Padova Works

Advanced SBQ finishing technology guarantees high-quality black bars and enhances operational efficiency

A second Danieli Centro Maskin bar straightening line was commissioned at Acciaierie Venete’s Padova Works, Italy.

The new line is designed to process special bar quality (SBQ) black bars with diameters up to 200 mm and yield strengths reaching 1,200 N/mm², ensuring excellent straightness, dimensional accuracy, and finished-product quality.

The line integrates advanced Danieli Automation process control systems, featuring Industry 4.0-compliant connectivity.

The system is designed for future integration with the Danieli Condition Monitoring System (D‑CMS), enabling predictive maintenance strategies, as well as the incorporation of Danieli’s artificial intelligence to support operators and maintenance teams.

Designed for demanding SBQ applications, the new straightening line combines robust mechanical equipment with user-friendly automation, ensuring reliable operation and high productivity across a wide range of steel grades.

The project was completed successfully through the close cooperation between the Acciaierie Venete and Danieli teams, and all acceptance tests were passed to the full satisfaction of the customer.

The successful startup followed the installation of a first straightening line of similar size and specification, confirming the confidence of Acciaierie Venete in Danieli technology and service capabilities. The new installation strengthens the long-standing cooperation between the two companies and supports Acciaierie Venete’s strategy of continuously improving product quality, operational reliability, and production efficiency.
